When I graduated from Chiropractic College in 2004, I knew I was going to have to start and run my own business in order to be the chiropractor that I wanted to be. I didn’t know what it meant to run a business, and I quickly realized that NOTHING I had learned in chiropractic college had prepped me for the business journey ahead.
So like most chiropractors, I struggled BIG TIME when I first started my practice. There is a part of me that was always a little annoyed at my school for not preparing me to run a business. For goodness sake, they made me learn how to draw blood and do urine analysis, don’t you think they could have dropped a few quality business and marketing classes in there?
But the more I think about it, I don’t know that it’s as cut and dry as I have historically thought. What is the role of chiropractic college? Should they be responsible for preparing chiropractors to run a business?
I talk about it more in this video. Check it out.
